Obituary for Helen "Mary" Highley
Helen “Mary” Highley 65, of Pekin passed away on Thursday April 3, 2008 at Pekin Hospital. Born in West Plaines, MO on May 26, 1942 to Henry and Vadia Smith Highley. She is survived by her son Thomas (Ashley) Highley of Pekin, brother Loren (Nancy) Highley of Washington, sister Joyce (Kim) Snyder of East Peoria, her 6 grand and 1 great grandchild and her caregiver Shelley Ross of Pekin. Her parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters preceded her in death. Mary was a teacher at the Adult Education Center, retiring in 1987. She was of the Baptist faith. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Friday April 11, at 4:30 p.m. at the River of Life Church, 1216 13th St. Pekin. Rev. Mike Forbis will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
