Obituary for Helen LaVonne Emery
(Helen) LaVonne (Collins) Emery passed away at her home on April 1, 2022. She was born in Kingston Mines on December 31, 1935 to Lawrence and Clara Collins. She married George Emery on June 16, 1951. He along with one daughter (Teresa Brazee) preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Georgetta (Mark) Stonewall of Kingston Mines, IL and Janet (Dennis) Baughman of Waite Park, MN. She is also survived by 7 Grandkids, Joshua (Heidi) of Peoria, Jason (Christine Hill) of Peoria and Jamie (Tabitha) of Bartonville, Shane Baughman of Delano, MN and Seth (Cheyenne Brown) Baughman of Denver, Colorado, Amanda (Ed) Desir of Brussels, Belgium and Andrew (Dawn) Brazee of Benson, IL. She also left behind 9 great grandchildren who were her light. Kadin, Sonia, Devontae, Cherish, Jude, Emilia, Calvin, Sterling and Jade.
She served as Village Clerk of the Village of Kingston Mines for 16 years. She was also the beloved Ma or Nana to many kids growing up in the area.
Cremation has been accorded and graveside services will be at Kingston Mines cemetery on April 10 at 1 pm followed by a celebration of life at Butler Haynes Park Pavilion from 2 to 4.
Donations to the family will be made to the Center for Prevention of Abuse and are requested instead of flowers.
