Obituary for Harvey J. Holcomb
Harvey J Holcomb Sr, 76, of Peoria formerly of Pekin peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on the evening of Tuesday, June 7, 2022.
Harvey was born September 15, 1945 In Decatur to Irwin A. and Della Louise (Haney) Holcomb.
On December 4, 1965 in Peoria IL he married the love of his life, Linda Kay (Madsen) she preceded him in death, on July 11, 2009. Together, they were parents of four children.
Surviving are four children Harvey (Jenny) Holcomb Jr., Mark (Kris) Holcomb all from Pekin, Linda (James) Raineri of Toulon, and Tammy (Joel) Fowler of Brimfield; 10 grandchildren, Duncan Holcomb, Lance Holcomb, Andrew Holcomb, Emily (Brandon) DuPage, Matthew Holcomb, Shelby (David) McCracken, Jenna (Colby) Frerichs, Caleb Raineri, Bridget Fowler, and Corbin Fowler; four great-grandchildren, Merida and Eliza McCracken, Hadley and Hudson DuPage.
Also Surviving are his Brother Mike Holcomb and Sister Lilyan Chapman both of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary Holcomb, Sr.; and his sister-in-laws, Pam Holcomb and Lola Holcomb and nephew, Gary Holcomb Jr.
Harvey worked as a semi-truck driver until his retirement. He was a passionate follower of Jesus. Harvey loved to spend time with his family and friends, always talking and joking with the people he loved. If you spent any time with him you would likely have had a laugh and heard about Jesus all in the same conversation.
A Visitation will be held at 4pm on Saturday June 25, 2022 at Ignite Church, 3707 N. Dayton Avenue, Peoria. (Just off War Memorial across from Emo's.) The Memorial Service will begin at 5:30pm. Please stay and join us for an informal dinner in celebration of Harvey’s life immediately following the service.
