Obituary for H. Maxine Mickey Kramer
H. Maxine “Mickey” Kramer, 85, of Pekin formerly of Glenview passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Hallmark House Nursing Home in Pekin. She was born January 10, 1928 to Maxwell and Helen Johnson Hetzler in Leesburg, OH. She married Kermit Richard Kramer in May of 1956; he preceded her in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Howard “Bud” Hetzler and sister, Ann Landacre. Mickey is survived by her daughters, Susan Lynn (Lynn) Coers of Manito, Amy Vanessa (Charles) Parks of Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Walker, Molly Coers, Charlie Parks, Michael Parks; great-grandchild, Audrie Walker and several nieces and nephews. She graduated from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing in Cleveland, OH, worked as a Registered Nurse at Skokie Valley Hospital for 25 years and as the school nurse at Glenbrook South High School for 30 years, retiring in 2007. She started the Glenview Park District Women’s Golf League in Glenview, IL 50 years ago. She was an avid Bridge player. She touched many lives through her caring words and work. Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 26th from 12 to 3 p.m. at Hackney’s on East Lake Ave in Glenview, IL. Please bring a photo or a story to share. Memorials may be made in her name to your favorite charity.
