Obituary for Gregory Ortega
Gregory V. Ortega, 50, of East Peoria passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at his home; surrounded by his family. He was born April 15, 1968 to Greg and Judy Vaugeois Ortega in Pekin. On June 6, 1993 he married his beloved wife, Glenda Rowe; she survives. He is also survived by his son, Joey Ortega of East Peoria; daughter, Bobbi (Matt) Coffman of East Peoria; grandchildren, Ayden and Addy; sisters, Tammy (Ernie) Hickman of San Jose, Teresa (Wade) Williams of Leoma, TN, Lisa (Gary) Rowe of Groveland, Jean Stockham of Havana, Linda Wilson of Havana and brother, Tom Reed of North Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Greg loved being outside and worked for Tri-County Tree removal for over 10 years. Prior to that he worked many years in the hospitality industry managing several hotels. He was former President of the Christian Motorcycle Association in Pulaski, TN; he was so honored to be a part of the Trail of Tears. He loved his family especially his grandchildren; he also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He also loved yard sales, fishing, the band Blackberry Smoke and the Minnesota Vikings. He was adored by his family and loved by everyone. Per his families wishes cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at
Fon du Lac Park District Administration Center 201 Veterans Drive East Peoria IL 61611. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the family would be appreciated.
