Grace A. Bohler, 74, of Peoria passed away peacefully at 11:05 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024 surrounded by family at Carle Health Methodist Hospital.
She was born April 13, 1950 in Canton the daughter of Wilbur Donald Utsinger Sr. and Lillian Johnson Utsinger. She is survived by her son, Robert (Julie) Hart of Texas; daughter, Dawn (Chris) Slater of Peoria; five grandchildren, Matthew Petersen, Blake Obrien, Austin Hart, Amanda Hart, Ryan Slater; brothers, Richard "Doc" Holloway of Canton, Wilbur Donald (Terry) Utsinger Jr. of Texas, her favorite niece Cathy (Steve) North Leek of Florida, many cousins, and many close friends including Chuck and Jean Sutton, Al and Sue Blessman and Terry Edwards. She was loved by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Bob Bohler, parents, and sisters Ethel (Phillip) Holloway North of Florida, Janice Elaine Utsinger of Peoria, and Rose Mary (John) Holloway Linder of Ohio, and an infant baby brother Robert Dean Utsinger.
Grace was a hard worker and she was passionate about cooking and feeding the world. She never met a stranger, and her generosity was a true gift to many. She enjoyed creating her own recipes, especially desserts. She loved to travel and cherished spending time with family in Florida.
She worked at International Harvester in Canton until its closing and then owned and operated The Pines Supper Club in Farmington, until moving to Springfield, OH and working until retirement for Navistar International.
Per her request cremation has been accorded and private graveside services will be held at a later date at Wiley Cemetery in Ellisville. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you honor her memory by enjoying a Hallmark Movie on Saturday nights or your favorite memory of her.
