Obituary for Gordon Probus
Gordon W. Probus, 79, of Forest City passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Hopedale Nursing Home. He was born June 30, 1938 in Leitchfield, KY to Marvin and Gauda Alma Johnson Hart. He married Shirley Tackman August 2, 1972 in Bloomington; she survives. He is also survived by his brother, Frederick “Boots” (Pam) Probus; sisters, Mary (Jimmy) Anderson, Jacqueline (Dave) Rever; sister-in-law, Wanda Probus; many nieces and nephews; his dear friends and neighbors, David and Mertina Colson; Pastor John and beloved dog, Pepper. His parents; brothers, Bias Probus, Melvin Probus, Frankie Probus, Floyd Probus and sister, Charity Bradbury preceded him in death. Gordon worked for Watlington & Anderson; retiring in 1989. He was a devoted member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church 32530 E. County Road 2180 N, Manito, IL 61546 where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
