Obituary for Gloria Studer
Gloria "Glo" J. Studer, 64, of Morton, IL, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 18, 2017, at her residence.
Gloria was born in Chicago, IL on July 11, 1953. Daughter of James Mattson and Gloria Ropele. She married Darryl Studer on February 14, 1972 in Wheaton, IL.
Gloria worked as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist and a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner for over 35 years. She was also a CPR instructor, ACLS Provider, BLS Provider, and loved to work with the future youth in the Explorer program. She was a member of the AARC and AAST.
Glo took the time to inform others of sleep and respiratory problems through her own education and experience. In the past she volunteered her time promoting and educating the public in poison control.
Gloria loved spending time with her family, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She knew no strangers and showed compassion and love to those in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Mattson and Gloria Ropele, and her beloved step-mother, Mary Mattson. She is survived by her husband, Darryl Studer; daughter, Heather (Jeremy) Davis; son, Sean Studer; two grandchildren, Jacob (Heather) Davis, Noah Davis; three great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Aaron, and one on the way; two sisters, Kathy Mattson, Liz Ropele, and two nephews, Rick and Joe.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Seasons Gastropub Restaurant 149 S. Main Street, Morton, IL 61550 in the private room downstairs. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions and condolences may be made to Darryl Studer and sent to his residence, or contact the Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. at (309) 688-2088.
