Obituary for Gloria Jean Wright
Gloria Jean Wright 76, of Pekin passed away on Friday February 29, 2008 at Pekin Hospital. Born in Tovey, IL on December 17, 1931 and moved to Pekin in 1941. The daughter of Alphonse and Denise Noreuil DuPage, she married Dr. Robert M. Wright on July 16, 1987 in Pekin. He survives along with her sisters; Roselyne Cutter and Loretta (Bill) Tucker both of Pekin, brother-in-law Dr. Nelson (Barbara) Wright III of Pekin and her nieces and nephews; Dr. David Wright of Springfield, Rene Hamm of Lewistown, Camille Lohnes of Mason City Dennis and Phillip Cutter both of Pekin and Ann Marie Kirgan of Pekin. Her parents and niece Suzanne Cutter preceded her in death. Gloria became an X-ray Tech in 1958 and worked as one for 10 years before working in the Nuclear Medicine Department at Pekin Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1994 as the head of the department. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church were she was a member of the Council of Catholic Women. Gloria loved to knit, tend to her flowers, traveling and classical music. A funeral service will be held for Gloria on Monday March 3, at 11 O’clock at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Joseph school or church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
