Obituary for Gilbert “Tom” Rogers
Topeka - Gilbert “Tom” Rogers 57 of Topeka passed away on Friday December 21, 2007 at Pekin Hospital. Born in Louisville, KY to Gilbert and Dorothy Marie Miller Rogers on February 11, 1950. He is survived by his children; Gilbert J. (Michelle) Rogers of South Pekin, Nekiah (Cassandra) Rogers of Banner, Nathaniel Rogers and Renee (Jerry) Bennett both of East Peoria, Buck Rogers and Misty Rogers both of Topeka, sisters; Linda (Frank) Ammerman of Hanna City, Carol (Terry) Williamson of Peoria, brothers; David & Mark (Cheryl) Rogers both of Peoria, Terry (Becky) Rogers of Colorado Springs, CO, Jason Rogers of East Peoria, 16 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and his significant other Debra Rogers of Topeka. His parents and a grandson preceded him in death. Tom worked as a Laborer at Keystone, retiring in 1976. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m. at First United Baptist Church in Sparland. Rev. John Shaffer and Rev. Zackery Rogers will officiate. Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
