Obituary for Gerald Jensen
Gerald “Jerry” Viggo Jensen 74, of Pekin passed away peacefully in his home with family and friends after a year long battle with cancer on Wednesday August 10, 2011. He was born in Minneapolis, MN to Viggo and Ellen Rasmusson Jensen on February 24, 1937. He married Sandra S. Stickelmaier on May 22, 1976 in Germantown Hills. She survives along with his daughter Jennifer (Donald) Chism of Pekin, brother Jim (Jacquie) Jensen of Minneapolis, MN, sister Mary Martin of Austin, TX and his grandson who was the bright light in his days, Maximos Chism of Pekin. His parents preceded him in death. Jerry served in the Army and was an Iron worker for 20 years, then worked for Marathon Builders as project manager for 20 years and retired from Alleghany Design in Pennsylvania in 2000. After his long career Jerry had worked in 48 states. He was a life long Minnesota Viking’s fan and avid NASCAR follower. Jerry leaves a legacy of sharing his construction knowledge and his never ending love of family, friends and life. Cremation has been accorded and a private celebration of life will be held on August 27
