Obituary for George A. Decker
George A. Decker, 61, of Lacon passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born November 28, 1962, in Peoria to Joseph G. and Estella M. Logan Decker. His parents; grandson, Angel Decker; granddaughter, Estella Decker and sisters, Joyce Carpenter, Mary Green, Judy Cipich and Lottie Berger preceded him in death.
He married Michelle L. Ortega on October 24, 1998, in Peoria; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Joshua (Tevra) Decker, Justin Hirsch, David Dean, Jacqueline (Kegan) King, Christopher Decker, Sara Decker; eleven grandchildren; one greatgrandchild and siblings, Charles (Judy) Decker, Estella Sonnenberg, Alice Carrington, and Ruth (Terry Oltman) Poplett.
George worked for Mordue Construction, retiring in 1996.
He loved his family and idolized his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and loved antiques and traveling.
Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held at this time.
