Obituary for Gary Dingledine
Gary Lee Dingledine, 81, of Peoria passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.
He was born February 11, 1939 in Washington, IL to Richard and Doris Bozarth Dingledine.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Rick (Deanne) Dingledine, Ed (Sara) Dingledine, Vikki (Bryon) Poorman, Diana Parm; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way and his aunt, Marg Fox.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Randy Dingledine.
Gary graduated from Washington High School. He played on the 1955 football team and received the All Conference and All State Honorable Mention that year. He worked for IBEW Local 34 retiring in 2001. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and loved to joke and had a great sense of humor. Gary loved his family and his Lutheran faith.
Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held at a later date at Penn Ridge Lutheran Cemetery.
