Obituary for Gale Knight
Gale G. Knight, 70, of Peoria died on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria. He was born on December 8, 1941 in Peoria to Gale and Blanche (Burton) Knight. Surviving are his wife, Sandra (Hoffmann) Knight; his daughter, Lori Jo Knight, his sons, Timothy (Susan) Knight and Robby Knight; three grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Shirley (Gene) Heller, Jerry (Val) Knight, Ronnie (Jan) Knight and Sharon (Donnie) Lovelady; several nieces and nephews and his loving friend and caregiver, Kim Johnson. Gale graduated from Limestone Community High School in 1959, where he was a member of the wrestling team. He also enjoyed playing baseball and softball for many years in the Bartonville and Peoria area. Gale worked as a member of Carpenter’s Local 183 for many years, working as a foreman and superintendent for River City Construction until his retirement. Gale loved his family, his garden, woodworking and fishing. He was also a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan. Cremation has been accorded and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
