Obituary for Gabriel DiPiazza
Gabriel DiPiazza, 77, of Peoria, IL passed away on Thursday March 15, 2012 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 15, 1935 to Vincent and Sara DeNicola DiPiazza. He married Tana M. DiMeo in Milwaukee, WI on October 15, 1960, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Vincent (Susann) DiPiazza of Texas, Gabrielle (Ronald) Thomas of Wisconsin, Christopher DiPiazza of Florida; grandsons, Anthony (Charlotte), Philip (Jan) and James (Neiloht) DiPiazza, Trent and Jake Thomas and a great-grandson Gabriel Dean Willis DiPiazza on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and two brothers. Gabriel served in the U.S. Army, graduated from Juilliard, and received a DMA from the University of North Texas in Denton. He taught at the University of Milwaukee, University of Texas in Dallas and Bradley University in Peoria. He moved back to Peoria after 25 years in Texas in 2003. He and his wife Tana performed in the U.S and Europe as a piano and vocal duet. He was also an avid gardener. Private family services will be held and memorials may be made in his name to Neighborhood House, Lymphoma Society or a charity of your choice.
