Obituary for Fred M. Fuller Sr.
Fred M. Fuller Sr. 71, of Washington passed away on Thursday September 10, 2009 at Fondulac Rehabilitation Care Center in East Peoria. Born in Rock Island on October 1, 1937 to Louis and Rosceale Gilmore Fuller. He married Brenda Sloan Decker in Pekin on October 13, 1978. She survives along with children; Todd (Heather) Fuller, Fred (Lynn) Fuller Jr., Earl (Kay) Donaway, Mitzi Smith, Amy (Mark) Harvey, Pamela (Bob) Kostecki, Angela (Shad) Wind, brother Louis (Betty) Fuller, sisters; Lois Tarlton, Pam (Harry) Clark, Ellen (Mike) Ryan and Laura (Alan) Adams. His 17 grand and 3 great grandchildren also survive. His parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death. Fred served in the U.S. Navy during Korea and worked as a Roofer until his retirement in 2000. He was a past member of the American Legion Post 100, Roofers Union # 1 and # 69, 14+2 Channel Breakers CB Club, was the director of the Washington JFL, coached Football and Basketball and was the former owner/operator of the Taco Shell restaurant in Washington. A memorial service will be held on Sunday September 20, at 3:30pm at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 301 E. Bittersweat Rd. in Washington. Pastor Jeremy Miller will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial of the cremains will be private. Memorials may be made to Harbor Light Hospice. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
