Obituary for Frankie L. Burkhalter
Frankie L. Burkhalter 58, of Green Valley passed away on Sunday March 1, 2009 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born in Ottumwa, IA on June 9, 1950 to Paul and Doris Ellison Burkhalter. He married Judy K. Deming in Liberty, IL on June 8, 1974, she survives along with his parents of Unionville, IA, son Charles (Patricia) Burkhalter of North Pekin, sisters; Linda Burkhalter and Debby (Fred) Avila both of Des Moines, IA, brother Craig (Dorene) Burkhalter of Pekin, grandson Jacob Weis and his nieces and nephews. His grandparents and brother Bobby preceded him in death. Frankie worked as an Assembler at Caterpillar and was of the Methodist faith. He was a Mason and a Volunteer Fireman and EMT and was President of the EMT’s. Frankie was a avid Artist, wood worker, watch repairman, golfer and hunter and worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in the past. Graveside services will be on Thursday March 5, at 1 p.m. at Lakeview cemetery in Pekin. A visitation will be held at Abts Mortuary on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made in his name to the National Kidney Foundation 215 W. Illinois, Suite 1C Chicago, IL 60610. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
