Obituary for Francis Joseph Robitski
Francis Joseph “Joe” Robitski of Marquette Heights, Illinois, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois where he had been a patient since July 28th. Born January 25, 1953 in Peoria, Illinois to Francis James and Patricia Ann (Cashen) Robitski, Joe was a member of the Local Sheet Metal Workers #1 since 1978, last working in 2012. Preceded in death by both parents, Joe is survived by three sisters: Connie (Glynn) Goodin of North Pekin, Illinois, Brooke (Greg) Liles of Marquette Heights, Illinois, and Pam Guidice of Florida. Joe was an outgoing person with many talents and hobbies. He was an accomplished guitar player, an amateur photographer who developed his own photos, and had a strong interest in astronomy. He was an avid sportsman who loved camping, boating, and fishing. Joe was an animal lover who seemed to have a sixth-sense when it came to communicating with dogs and he always took his pal, Norman, (black lab) with him wherever he went. But, it was his love for his family and friends that made Joe special. His family was the center of his life and he would do anything for his sisters. His friends will remember him as a fun-loving, generous, good-natured man, with a great sense of humor who would go without in order to help someone else; his last act of humanity as an organ donor. Joe will be missed by all of us but will remain in our hearts forever. Memorials may be made to TAPS in Pekin, Illinois in his name. Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held per his wishes.
