Obituary for Florence "Flori" McElfresh
Florence “Flori” S. McElfresh 75, of Bartonville passed away at 11:04 am September 9, 2011 peacefully at home with her family at her bedside. She was born February 15, 1936 in Peoria, the daughter of Paul and Elsie Erickson. She married Junior I. McElfresh September 3, 1955. He preceded her in death September 23, 2002. Also preceding her in death were 3 sisters and 1 brother. She is survived by 1 sister, Gloria Foster, sons, Jim (Robin) of Peoria, John (Sally) of Bartonville, Terry (Janice) of Cincinnati, OH and daughter, Jeanne (Mark) Kiley of Flower Mound, TX. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Flori worked at Cohen’s Furniture for many years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville. Flori enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She always looked forward to spending the winter in Mexico Beach, FL with her cousin Sandy Shea and enjoyed fishing trips to Minnesota with all of her family. She enjoyed reading books, and was a member of Timberlake Golf Course where she enjoyed golfing with her many friends. Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial Service will be at 11 am Saturday September 17, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville. Memorial Donations can be made to OSF Hospice or The American Cancer Society. Flori will be missed not only by family but also by others who knew and loved her.
