Obituary for Eugene Welker
Eugene J. Welker, 65, of Canton died at 9:00 am, at home, on January 7th,
2018. He was born June 29th, 1952 in Canton to Edwin E. and Phyllis M.
(Morelli) Welker (Harvey). They preceded him in death. He married
Georgianna K. (Vollmer) Welker on April 22nd, 2001. She survives. Also
surviving are his children Christa Ledford, Toni Sofranko, Julianna
Anderson, Kimberley Markland, Christie Adams, Darrell Adams Jr., and
Larry Adams, 24 grandchildren (1 preceding him in death) and 6
great-grandchildren.
Eugene graduated from Canton Senior High School in 1970. He joined
Caterpillar in December 1971 where he worked as an electrician and robot
repair electrician. He retired in August 2010 with 38 1/2 years of service. He
hired back into his position the same month as an employee for ATS to
work as a robot repair electrician at Caterpillar until June of 2017. In his
free time Eugene enjoyed playing music on his guitar and riding his Harley.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Private services are at a later date.
