Born on January 20, 1933, in Slater, IA, he grew up in Slater and then joined the Navy and served in the Korean Conflict. From there, he attended Iowa State University. He worked for the state of Iowa, where he met his wife, Linda. They then relocated to Morton, IL, where he worked and retired from Caterpillar. He loved baseball and was a die-hard Cubs fan. He was a loving husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Dennis.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Dahl; two sons, Michael and Karen Dahl and David Dahl; and his three sisters, Betty Price, Dorothy Witt and Sharon Dickerson.
Memorials can be made to Morton United Methodist Church.
