Obituary for Erma E. Cassidy
Erma E. Cassidy, 87, of East Peoria passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born August 23, 1936, in Mountain View, MO to Henry and Lula Payne Burks.
She married Michael Glen Cassidy; he preceded her in death on January 24, 2007. Her daughter, Ellen J. Cassidy; stepdaughter, Patricia K. Stokes; her parents and fifteen siblings preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Vickie (Marty) Winter, Michelle (Chad) Platt, Kelli (Bill) Osborn, Chris (Amie) Cassidy; stepchildren, Michael G. Cassidy, Jerry K. Cassidy, Sharon A. (Merlin) Eichner; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Bonnie Carter, Linda Rose; half-brother, Wilbur Burks and many nieces and nephews.
Erma loved and was devoted to her family. She loved baking and cooking for her family meals. She also loved her home and the color blue; she collected blue and white glass.
Our family would like to thank The Villas at Hollybrook Memory Care Unit in East Peoria for the love and care they gave to our mom the last six months. You became our family and for that we are so thankful! We’d also like to thank the staff at OSF Richard L. Owens hospice home. The level of care, love and support they provide is incredible. Cremation has been accorded and a service will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at “G.T.” Glad Tidings Church 2201 E. Washington St., East Peoria, IL 61611.
