Obituary for Elizabeth Dianne Brandt

Elizabeth Dianne Brandt, 77, of East Peoria passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2023, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria surrounded by her family.


Dianne was born on June 28, 1946, to Richard and Lexie (Pickens) Martin.


She married Steven E. Brandt on May 21, 1966, he survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Dawn Gries, Andrea (Scott) Haney; three grandchildren, Morgan Gries, Catherine Haney, Hunter Haney; two great-grandchildren, Rosie, and Ryder; sister, Donna (Terry) Hoyland; niece, Trina (Randy) Hancock; four great-nieces; mother-in-law, Margaret Rubin; sister-in-law, Diane (Kurt) Kelly along with many other family members who loved her.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and her sister, Danita Martin.


Dianne was a loving wife, mother, Nana, and Gigi. She had so many wonderful friends and made countless memories with each of them.


Dianne and Steve took many trips over the years camping and condos on the beach. They bought a home in Florida where they spent winters with family, friends (old and new) and had the best times.


Dianne was an avid bowler and spent many years on the Peoria Women’s Bowling Board. She golfed at Hillcrest in a league for many years. Girls trips with her friends were a highlight for her, making memories and so much laughter.


Dianne worked at Hiram Walkers for sixteen years and was still active at the Hiram Walker Rod and Gun Club, where they had a camper and were involved in various activities. She also worked at Illinois Central College Bookstore for 25 years.


In keeping with her wishes, a celebration of life will be held at the VVI Bunker in Washington on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.


Memorial contributions may be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home or Illinois CancerCare in her name.


Special gratitude is extended to Dr. Tsoraides and the staff on 4 surgical at OSF St. Francis Medical Center along with the staff at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home for their compassionate care during her illness.


The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at csmico.com
