Obituary for Earl Lowery
Earl C Lowery, 92, passed away Saturday morning, August 31, 2019, in East Peoria.
Born December 4, 1926, in Peoria, to Crawford Ora and Gertrude Ellen (Weaver) Lowery, Earl was the 8th of 11 children. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Jacobson on June 18, 1966 at St Mark’s Church in Peoria. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2002. He was also preceded in death by their infant daughter, Theresa, his parents, three sisters (Edna, Anna, and Elsie) and six brothers (Claude, Walt, William, Jim, Roy, and an infant brother).
He is survived by one brother, Charles (Dorothy) Lowery, and dozens of nieces, nephews, and their extended families.
Earl served in the Army at the end of WWII. He worked for Montgomery Ward and Isaac Walker for a number of years before he retired. He and Betty loved to visit the Wee Tee Mini Golf course behind their home and often volunteered to do yard work to keep busy. He was an avid Cubs fan, but never removed the Cardinals decal his goddaughter once stuck on his car.
Our thanks go to Fondulac Home for their care of Uncle Earl in the last stages of his life. He and Aunt Betty are together again.
Cremation services have been accorded and inurnment will take place at a later date in Lutheran Cemetery. There will be no services.
