Obituary for Douglas Troxell
Douglas A. Troxell 38, of Peoria passed away at 1:58 p.m. on Tuesday March 1, at his home. Born on January 4, 1973 in Peoria to Emily (Tillman) Troxell and JC Troxell. He married Ann Heinz on October 19, 2002. Doug is survived by his wife and two daughters, Lauren ( 6 ) and Carrington ( 4 ). Also surviving are his mother (Emily), father ( JC ), and step-mother ( Sue ). He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Doug was last employed at Keane as a Performance Analyst. He was active in the adult hockey league at Owens Center, last playing for the Crusens team. Doug also volunteered for over 10 years as a Rivermen off-ice official. He was a member of Arrowhead Country Club and enjoyed many rounds of golf. Doug was an advocate for male breast cancer awareness, speaking often for T.V., radio and newspapers. He was one of the first male survivors who participated in the annual Race for the Cure survivor march. Doug was blessed to be surrounded by a very large group of family and friends. Per Doug’s wishes, the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life, instead of a traditional service. The Celebration is open to friends and family and will be held on Sunday March 6

from 1 to 4 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Allen Road in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Doug’s name to Susan G. Komen or the education fund for his girls at CEFCU.
