Obituary for Dorothy L. Pescaglia
Dorothy L. Pescaglia 90, formerly of 1521 Highwood Ave Pekin passed away on Tuesday January 15, 2008 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin. She was born June 6, 1917 in Mapleton to William and Jennie Rothlisberger Kuntz. She married Cevial Pescaglia on June 20, 1936 in Pekin, he preceded her in death on December 17, 1997 along with her two brothers and two grandsons. Dorothy is survived by her son William “Bill” (Mary) Pescaglia of Manito, daughter Rose Marie (Donavon) Hasler of Pekin, sister Florence Rossi of North Pekin, grandchildren: Dana (Jerry) Fox, Lisa Orr and Terry (Sarah) Pescaglia and seven great grandchildren.
Dorothy worked for American Distillery for 27 years and later worked at Bergner’s Department Store for 15 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and their Council of Catholic Women, Ladies of the Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday January 23, at 10 a.m., Father Timothy Nolan will officiate and burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be Tuesday January 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 at Abts Mortuary. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church 303 S. 7th St. Pekin or the Knights of Columbus council #3507 assembly 210, 715 N. 11th St. Pekin. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
