Dorothy J. Williams, 73, of Peoria passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her residence.
She was born September 6, 1947 in Scott, MS to O.C. Perry and Ester Williams.
She is survived by her daughter, Latonya Reed; devoted cousin, Eric B. Hunter; niece, Margaret Williams; nephews, Jackie Williams, Andrew Williams, Donald Williams and special great-niece, Erica Bartee and several other great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, O.C. Perry; mother, Ester Williams Calloway; sister, Autry Williams and brother, John Williams.
Dorothy worked as a CNA for Buehler Christian Home retiring in 2011. She was a former foster grandparent and former chaplain assistant at Methodist Hospital. She was an active member of Morning Glory Ministries and was an ordained minister and Sunday school teacher. Dorothy was an avid shopper.
Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Morning Glory Ministries 2906 N. 12 Oaks Dr., Peoria, IL 61604. A graveside service and burial will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Lakewood Cemetery in Greenville, MS.
