Obituary for Doris Jean Williams
Doris Jean Williams, 91, of South Pekin passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born August 4, 1932, in Aberdeen, SD to Clifford and Alice Wheeler Hurlbert.
She married Herman Williams; he preceded her in death October 15, 2013. Her parents; granddaughters, Cara Luncsford, Diana Luncsford; great-grandson, Jeffrey Doty; son-in-law, Steven Arkless; sister, Ilene Rawdon; brother, Dale Hurlbert and twin brother, Maurice Hurlbert also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Karen J. Arkless, Sherry L. Davis, Darren (Joanna) Williams; grandchildren, Brandon (Michelle) Davis, Danielle Davis, Samantha Doty; great-grandchildren, Brayden Davis, Mehayli Davis, Emma Doty, Elijah Luncsford; sister, Marian West and many nieces and nephews.
Doris worked as a telephone operator, retiring in 1987.
She loved her family and friends; she was always hospitable and kind. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend.
Doris was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She loved sharing the Bible’s hope with people.
She will be missed by many.
Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2726 Broadway Road, Pekin, IL on Saturday, November 4th at 5:00PM.
