Obituary for Doris "Dot" A. Lindberg
Doris “Dot” A. Lindberg 86, of Pekin passed away on Saturday May 3, 2008 at Pekin Manor. Born in Uxbridge, MA on June 17, 1921 to Oscar and Flora Buma Vanderzicht. Dot is survived by 2 sons, 1 sister, 1 step-sister and her friend of over 50 years, Helen Weston and Bonnie and Glen Hartig with whom she lived. Her parents and 2 brothers preceded her in death. She worked for the Department of the Army as a Secretary, retiring in 1983. Dot was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Pekin, was active until her illness at the Miller Center, she was part of the Sweet Adeline’s, was a Boston Red Socks fan and enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge. A memorial service will be held on Friday May 9, at 11 a.m. with a lunch and fellowship following the service at her church. Rev. Lloyd Brock will officiate; burial of cremains will be private. Memorials may be made to her church or the Miller Center. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
