Obituary for Donovan Wendell
Donovan James Wendell 64, of Pekin Passed away on Saturday March 6, 2010 at his home. He was born in Pekin on October 4, 1945 to Rouland J. and Mary Alice Neill Wendell. He married Patricia Ann Ellington on November 4, 1989 in Pekin. Donovan is also survived by his two daughters: Donna Jean Longden of Morton, IL and Katrina M.L. (Shawn) Fischer and his four grandchildren: Kortney, Sabrina, Venessa and Trent. His parents preceded him in death. He was employed by Caterpillar for 32 years, retiring in 2006 from Mossville Assembly. He was a member of UAW Local 974, the NRA, Eagles Lodge 1869, an associate member of IL Sheriffs Association, CB and Ham Radio Operator, and a radio technician for many years. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, former associate member of the Marine Corps League, former Special Deputy with the Tazewell County Intelligence Section C D. Visitation will be held Saturday March 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Abts Mortuary in Pekin. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the Tazewell County Animal Control.
