Obituary for Donald Shaw
Donald L. Shaw 81, of Okeechobee, FL formerly of Pekin passed away Friday July 9, 2010 at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria. He was born March 17, 1929 in Macomb to Claud Otis and Anna Elizabeth Glossick Shaw. He married Lillian M. Osterman January 21, 1950 in TN. She survives along with his children; Sandra (Terry) Hall of Loveland, CO, Cathy (Jerry) McCleery of Kansas City, MO, David Shaw of Frazier, CO, Donna (John) Irwin of Pekin, Janet (Tim) Geisick of Evans, CO, Anna (Fred) Null of Fort Collins, CO and his brother; Robert Shaw of East Peoria. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia Shaw and greatgrandson Tyler McCleery. Donald graduated from PCHS in 1947. He worked as a millwright in construction for Local 644 retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Eagles, and a former member of the Peoria Sportsman Club and Pekin Boat Club. AÂ Service will be held Monday July 12, 2010 at Abts Mortuary in Pekin at 7pm with a visitation 2 hours prior, Deacon Bill Meyer will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following services. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association and the American Parkinson Disease Association. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery at a later date.
