Obituary for Donald Crews
Donald R. Crews 82, of Peoria passed away Wednesday August 4, 2010 at the Greater Peoria Specialty Hospital. He was born December 6, 1927 to Henry and Maggie Manus Crews in Elkville, IL. He married Everice Mitchell April 16, 1955 in Centralia, IL. She survives along with his brothers Warren Crews of Normal, Jerry (Janet) Crews of Murphysboro, his sister Nancy (Dan) Petry of Ellisville, MO, sister-in-law Priscilla Crews of Murphysboro and was a uncle to 24 nieces and nephews . His parents, brothers; Lester, Robert, Frank, Gene, Charles and sister; Margaret all preceded him in death. Donald received his Bachelor’s in Science at Southern Illinois University in 1953. He was a Design Engineer for Caterpillar in Mossville retiring in 1983. He also worked for General Radiator in Mt Vernon, IL. He served in the US Army as a member of the Armed Forces Special Weapons Project in Albuquerque, NM. He was a member of Arrowhead Country Club, a life member of Grand Lodge of A.F. and A.M. DeSoto Lodge No. 287 and a member of the 1
United Methodist Church of Peoria. Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date in Centralia, IL. Memorials may be made to Wildlife Prairie State Park in his name.
