Obituary for Donald Bohler
Donald D. Bohler, 74, of Canton passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton. He was born November 26, 1938 in Canton to Otto F. and Emma D. Ellis Bohler. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ron. He is survived by his brother, Bob (Grace) Bohler of Canton; sisters, Carolyn West of Canton, Kathy Hay of Gilbert, AZ; several nieces and one nephew. Donald served in the U.S. Navy as a Gunner’s Mate on the USS Bennington. He worked for Em’s Lounge in Canton for 40 years retiring in 2002. He was a lifetime member of Loyal Order of Moose in Canton and a member of the VFW and American Legion in Canton. He was a diehard Cub fan. He was a kind and loving man who will be deeply missed. Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. Pastor Maureen Stein will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mooseheart Child City & School, Inc., Mooseheart, IL 60539 in his name.
