Obituary for Donald Atwell
Donald Richard Atwell, 82, of Peoria passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born October 13, 1931 in Rutledge, MO to Willie R. and Mildred E. Matlock Atwell. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Leland (and Gladys) Atwell of Gulfport, MS; sister, Alice Darlene (and James) Rice of Jacksonville, IL; nephews and nieces, Ron Atwell of San Mateo, CA, Dan (and Doris) Atwell of San Diego, CA, Tom (and Sue) Atwell of Peoria, IL, Bob (and Lynne) Atwell of Spring Bay, IL, Richard Rice of Springfield, IL, Lezlie Rice of Jacksonville, IL, James Rice of Chatham, IL and numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Donald served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Caterpillar, retiring January 31, 1992. Cremation has been accorded and no services are planned at this time.
