Obituary for Dixie Chasteen
Dixie L. Chasteen, 71, of Farmington passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at her residence. She was born December 21, 1947 in Kewanee to Clarence and Dolly Spiegel Carrington. She married Jim Chasteen; he preceded her in death October 6, 2012. Her parents; sister, Patsy Carrington and son-in-law, John Hartseil also preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Crystal (fiancée, Dave Byrd) Hartseil, Jimmy L. (Jenny) Chasteen; grandchildren, Jonathon (Lee) Hartseil, Nicole (Thomas) Orr, River Chasteen; great-grandchildren, Jack, Lucy, Hunter; siblings, Larry Carrington, Junior Carrington, Letha Munger, Shirley Kirkhove, Cathy Ledegerber and many nieces and nephews. Dixie worked 30 years for Kitchen Cooked Potato Chips. She loved garage sales, gambling, taking care of her yard and taking care of her grandchildren. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
