Obituary for Dewey Roe Sr.
Dewey DeWayne Roe Sr., 68, of Washington, IL passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. He was born June 11, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN to Larry and Elizabeth Youngman Roe. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Roe; sisters, Dorie Sturgeon, Judith Brooks and step-father, Robert Trainer. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Jackson of Creve Coeur, IL; son, Dewey (Marie) Roe Jr. of Chillicothe, IL; grandchildren, Michal, Melissa, Travis, Madelyne, Tristin; great-granddaughter, Kyla; brothers, Ronald (Loretta) Roe of Indiana, Gary (Regina) Roe of Creve Coeur, IL; sisters, Nellie (Gary) Douglas of Germantown Hills, IL, Millie (Bill) Moore of Iowa and several nieces and nephews. Dewey served in the U.S. Air Force. He owned and operated Central Signs for 25 years. He loved NASCAR and enjoyed going picking at garage sales and auctions. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at noon at Abts Mortuary in Pekin, IL with visitation two hours prior at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Graffis will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL. Memorials may be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.
