Obituary for Dennis Lee Combs
Dennis Lee Combs, 70, of Peoria passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.
He was born July 9, 1950 in Peoria to George E. and Eileen M. Burgard Combs. His parents; infant sister, Theresa Rose; nephew, Steven R. Davis and brother-in-law, Frank A. Mann preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sisters, Sharon A. Mann of Yates City, IL, Mary (Ed) Romo of Oakley, CA, Cecelia (Steve) Duffy of Auburn, KS, Karen (Manuel) Avina of San Fernando, CA, Kay (Stan) Weatherington of Creve Coeur, IL and brother, Ken Combs of Peoria, IL. He is also survived by ten nieces; two nephews, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and nephews along with numerous other relatives.
Dennis retired from Illinois River Correctional Center in Canton, IL in 2002. He was a graduate of Manuel High School in 1969. He was an avid Manual Rams sports fan, a Chicago Cubs fan, and his favorite thing to do was spend the day on the water fishing.
Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the American Legion Post 979 at 4501 Airport Road in Bartonville from 12 noon to 8 p.m. with food served from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
