Obituary for Dennis D. Hilst
Dennis D. Hilst, 67, of Manito passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born July 6, 1954, in Pekin to Beryl and Nora Mae Golden Hilst. His parents and stepson, John Barge III preceded him in death.
He married Tammy J. Logue October 10, 2020, in Pekin; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Ashley Hilst-Byers, Matthew Hilst; stepchildren, Betty Barge, Clinton Brown, Chloe (Aaron) Wagle; eight grandchildren and brother, Kevin Hilst.
Dennis worked for Caterpillar. He was a volunteer fireman for Manito.
He loved his family, grandkids, and dogs. He was loved by his family and many friends.
Dennis loved riding motorcycles, gardening, and farmers markets. He also loved music and played in West MacQueen Street, Wolf & Gypsy, and many other bands.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at New Life Fellowship Church 1010 Derby Street, Pekin, IL 61554, and a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at the Forman Center 308 S. Harrison Street, Manito, IL 61546.
