Obituary for David Wayne Hawks

David Wayne Hawks, 67, of Washington passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in Morton.

He was born July 25, 1956, in Yazoo City, MS to Walter Thomas and Irene Hawks. His parents; nephew, Adam Sullivan and brother-in-law, Donald Sullivan preceded him in death. His sister, Deborah Eastin passed June 5, 2024.

He is survived by his children, Geoffery D. (Alison) Hawks, Kylie R. (Brant) Marchand; grandchildren, Lily Hawks, Rylin Magner, Walker Marchand, Justin Hawks, Jake Hawks; siblings, Susan E. (Jim) Barlow, Angela J. Sullivan, Susan (Mark) Allen of Utah, Thomas (Marlene) Hawks of Mississippi; brother-in-law, Richard Eastin of Missouri and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

David served in the U.S. Navy and was an IHSA Hockey Coach.

Dave was a wonderful father to his two children. He was a great friend, coach, counselor and mentor to many. He cherished his children, grandchildren and family. Family was everything to him and he was never too busy to help someone in need. He loved music, board games, and sitting on a porch with good friends and family. He loved his time spent in Galena, IL on the porch talking to guests along with his significant other, Joan Hudson. Dave had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at csmico.com
