Obituary for David Munson
David J. Munson 60, of Manito passed away Monday March 1, 2010 in Peoria. He was born on November 27, 1949 in Pekin to Harold and Marion Stoltz Munson who preceded him in death, also preceding him was his sister Gloria. He is survived by his brothers: Robert M. (Nancy) Munson of Pekin, Tom (Judy) Munson of Rushville, IL, sister: Sally (Larry) Pruett of Okawville, IL, daughters: Tonya (Chuck) Hundt of Pekin, Amy (Dan) Hansen of Pekin, fiancée: Judy Johnston of West Peoria, 10 grandchildren, nieces Laurie Garrett of Bloomington and several other nieces and nephews. David was in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Steamfitter for Local Union 353 for 35 years retiring in 2007. He was a member of the VFW Post 1232 in Pekin. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday March 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Abts Mortuary in Pekin with a Visitation 1 hour prior to the service. The family has requested casual attire be worn. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin with military rites accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pekin Salvation Army or Hopedale Medical Complex. Abts Mortuary has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
