Obituary for David Brandt III
David G. Brandt III, 64, of Pekin passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 31, 1949 in Rolla, MO to David and Velma Meyer Brandt Jr. He married Mary Duryea May 15, 1971 in East St. Louis, IL. She survives along with his daughters, Heather Shidler of Lafayette, IN, Nicole Smith of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Gavin, Ryan, Caylen, Dylan, Ellison, Sawyer, Tage; brother, Danie Brandt of Rolla, MO; sister, Gwena (Tom) Beezley of St. James, MO and nieces and nephews, Jared Brandt, Josh Brandt, Abe Beezley, Andy Duryea, Jeanie Duryea, Paden Duryea, Hallie Duryea. He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Michael Shilder. David served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked for Caterpillar for 35 years. Cremation has been accorded and per his wishes no services will be held. Memorials may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, IN in his name.
