Obituary for David Brooks
David L. Brooks, 82, of Peoria passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Sunset Manor in Canton. He was born July 11, 1935 in Bartonville to Robert and Inda Branscum Brooks. He married Jo Ann Lavens March 30, 1974 in Peoria; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Debra Rose (Dick) Beeney, Brad (Vicky) Brooks, Terry Whelan; grandchildren, Brandon Beeney, Joshua (Brittany) Beeney Sr., Nicholas (Jennifer) Brooks, Nicole Brooks, Jamie (Clay) Richardson, Brittany (Jerr Anderson) Whelan, Shane (Brett) Whelan-Ramp; great-grandchildren, Joshua Beeney Jr., Beau Beeney, Dez Beeney, Aiden Major, Reagan Brooks, Lauren Brooks, Reese Richardson, Gracie Richardson, Kale Richardson, Dash Anderson, Guner Anderson, Easton Whelan-Ramp; siblings, Violet Montgomery, Jim Brooks, Jenny Willey, Kenneth Brooks, Donna Griffith, Ronald Brooks, Frank Brooks, Sandra Parks, Richard Brooks, Gary Brooks, Ed Brooks and many nieces and nephews. His parents and brother, Everett Brooks preceded him in death. David worked for CILCO and later as a boiler maker and he also worked for Lowes. He had a wonderful big heart, he was loved by many. He had a big personality, was very generous and would go without so he could help others. He loved fishing, playing horseshoes and drinking an ice-cold beer. Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his name.
