Obituary for Dale Nelson
Dale E. Nelson, 87, of Peoria passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at his residence. He was born July 20, 1930 in Springfield to Edward and Marie Hobbs Nelson. He married Barbara Ann Bell; she preceded him in death. He later married Margaret Kenyon; she preceded him in death. His parents also preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Dave) Rynerson; son, Michael Nelson; step-daughters, Charlotte Hall, Dee (Jim) Burdette; four step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. Dale served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He worked for Caterpillar as a research heavy equipment operator; retiring in 1996 and later worked for Cady Oil Company as a state inspector; retiring in 2015. He was a member of the Bartonville American Legion and Timber Lake Club. He was the founder and member of the Midwest Corvette Club. He loved cars and motorcycles. Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital in his name.
