Obituary for Cynthia Rose Sturgeon
Cynthia Rose Sturgeon 50, of Bartonville passed away on Sunday November 16, 2008 at her home. Born in Pekin on November 27, 1957 to Oscar and Julie Barto Tharp. She married Terry L. Sturgeon in Pekin on June 26, 1986, he survives along with her mother of Spring Valley, step-children; Terry Sturgeon Jr. of Pekin, Dawn Skaggs of Peoria, sister Michele (Joseph) Stachura and brother Jeffrey (Julie) Tharp both of Morton, nephews Derek Stachura and Jeffery Tharp Jr. both of Morton, nieces; Sonja Cruz of North Pekin, Amber McCarthy of Mackinaw, Jenica Tuggle of NC, great nieces and nephews; Brayden Cruz, Taylor Cruz, Lilyen McCarthy, Vylet McCarthy and Ryley McCarthy. Her father preceded her in death. Cynthia was a Case Supervisor in Tazewell Co. for the Department of Human Services for the past 25 years. She found her work to be very rewarding and will be greatly missed by her husband and family. Cynthia was an avid animal lover and an animal rescuer and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Per her wishes, there will be no services and cremation will be accorded. Memorial contributions may be made to (T.A.P.S.), Tazewell Animal Protection Society, 100 Taps Ln. Pekin, IL 61554. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
