Obituary for Cynthia Lizer
Cynthia Lynn Lizer, 55, of Dunlap, IL, passed away on Friday April 27, 2012, surrounded by her family at home. Cindy fought a long hard battle with breast cancer for 20 years. Despite her illness she continued to be a mother to her children, work daily to provide for them and participate in their lives. She was born March 30, 1957, in Des Moines, IA to Irving and Mary Jane Lizer. She was preceded in death by her father, Irving L. Lizer, of Peoria, IL. She is survived by her mother, Mary Jane Lizer of Peoria, IL; daughter, Ashley (husband Ben) Rogers and grandson, Gunner of Lafayette, IN; son, Michael Irwin of Dunlap, IL; sister, Teri (husband Rick) Gutman and son Ben of Overland Park, KS; brother, Dr. Robert Lizer and daughters, Ashlynn and Brielle of Peoria, IL. Cindy attended Bergan High School in Peoria, IL, graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority and Junior League. She was active in Boy Scouts of America-Troop 88 of Dunlap, IL. She was active in her business, Lizer Insurance. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held in the mausoleum chapel at Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, IL at 10 a.m. on Thursday May 3, 2012. Memorials may be made to the Susan G.
