Obituary for Curtis Denzil Taylor
Curtis Denzil Taylor, 92, of Peoria passed away at 2:53 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Proctor Place in Peoria. He was born September 29, 1926 in Beaver Creek, IL to Delbert and Maud Thackery Taylor. He was married to Eloise Taylor from 1948 until 1988; she preceded him in death. He later married Lorene Edna Westlake in Groveland on July 16, 1994; she survives. He is also survived by his two children, Larry Taylor, Debra Taylor plus two stepchildren, Ron Martin, Pat Nevilda; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Delmar and sister, Sue Mae Posey. His daughter, Karen Hunt; parents; brother, Don and sister, Marie preceded him in death. Curtis served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1945-1946, stationed in Japan, and honorably discharged on December 20, 1946. He worked for Caterpillar for over 30 years retiring in 1986. Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria at 12 noon with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors in his name.
