Obituary for Clifford O. Patton
Clifford O. Patton, 70, of Armington, formerly of Bloomington, died Friday (Jan. 16, 2009) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Mr. Patton will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. He was born August 8, 1938 in Sun, West Virginia, the son of Russell C. and Virginia Frances Dunn Patton. Surviving are his children, Lisa Luna of Concord, Ca.; Lori Bundrock of Aguanga, Ca.; Leah Sanders of Riverside, Ca.; Lynn MacDonald of Mission Viejo, Ca.; Lana Gregory of Los Angeles, Ca.; Russell Patton of Stanton, Ca.; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his cousin and good friend, Leon Smalley of Armington; a brother, Ray Lutes of Williamstown, WV.; two sisters, Monica Pancake of Montgomery, WV.; and Annette Skelton of Deep Water, WV; nieces Vicky Gathright of Bloomington, IL and Katie Hamilton of NH; his two beloved dogs, Lucky and Samantha; his friends at Minier Tap, Minier, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. He attended Bloomington High School and served in the U.S. Navy; was a roofer and carpenter by trade. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching NASCAR racing. He lived his life on his own terms and will always be remembered by those who loved him.
