Obituary for Clifford Mathias
Clifford G. Mathias, 73, of Pekin, IL passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at Pekin Hospital. He was born February 19, 1940 in Pekin, IL to Clifford and Nina Koehler Mathias. He married Betty Russin March 15, 2013 in Pekin, IL. She survives along with his children, Timothy (Medea) Mathias of East Peoria, IL, Stephen Mathias of Morton, IL, April (George) Staupe of Apache Junction, AZ, Christopher (Janna) Mathias of West Des Moines, IA, Danielle (Martin) Brill of Wheatfield, IN, Michael (Shellie) Mathias of Marquette Heights, IL; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Brian and his previous wife’s Joan and Mahala “Sue”. Clifford served in the U.S. Army. He was a heavy equipment operator retiring in 2000. He was a Treasurer of Steelworkers Union for many years. He enjoyed bowling and online card games. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Abts Mortuary in Pekin, IL.
