Obituary for Claudia "Donna" La'Don Mitchell
Claudia La'Don Mitchell (Best known as Donna by those most close to her), Sadly left us on August 5, 2024 after a life richly lived in love and kindness. She was 74 years old. Born on February 14, 1950.
She married the love of her life-Tom Mitchell Sr. and they have remained together for over 58 years. She was a loving Mother to their 3 children-Tommy Mitchell Jr., Tamara (Chad) Jones, La’Vette (Bradley) Brown-3 grandchildren, Easton Jones, Jessica Mitchell, Bryston Brown, and-3 1/2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both of her parents-Joe and Lorene Crossno, 1 brother-Joe Jr., 1 sister-Lorri, and many other loved ones and friends. Her sister Julia Weaver and brother Jim Crossno survive her.
Donna was highly accomplished, and most renowned for her infectious laugh and smile. She held great beauty, style, intelligence, and creativity. She touched uncountable lives with happiness. She was eloquently spoken, and spoke from her heart. She cherished her family, all children, and all babies, and Rock n Roll Oldies music. She had a heart of gold, was selfless and loved beyond measure.
Donna was an adoring wife, a loving and proud homemaker, secretary, and an academic teacher (but also a teacher in and of life). She had a deep love and desire to make everyone feel loved. She actively participated in her children’s academic careers. Her absence is like the sky spread over everything and everyone. She will be forever loved and remembered, and affectionately missed until we meet again.
A private ceremony celebrating her life will be held by her close family.
