Obituary for Clarence Phillip Jacobs

Clarence Phillip Jacobs, 84, of Galva, IL formerly of Washington, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.


Clarence was born in Peoria, IL on December 21, 1941, to Clarence Willard Jacobs and Maudie Emma Jacobs (Nelson).


He spent his childhood in the Peoria area and in Pekin. He graduated from Pekin High School in 1959 and proudly served in US Army for 3 years.


Clarence married young and had a son, William Singleton from his first marriage. He then married Ruth Ann Brown in Pekin, they had a daughter, Pamela Sue, born in December of 1967 and son, Michael Dean, was born in 1972. He later married Beverly, whom he stayed married to until her death in 2022.


Clarence proudly worked at Caterpillar, retiring in 1998.


Clarence loved to travel and see the country, stopping to camp along the way. He was avid country music fan and enjoyed archery and fishing in his free time.


He was proceeded in death by his parents and his spouses.


Clarence enjoyed fatherhood, loved his extended family and was a very proud, and beloved, grandfather to his many grandchildren.


Cremation has been accorded and a potluck event in honor of Clarence Phillip Jacobs will be held on February 28, 2026, at the American Legion 45 Wallace Street Galva, IL. Doors will be open from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Please bring your own drinks and dinnerware, as well as a dish to share. We welcome members of the Army Veteran Group DD 214 and the surrounding areas, as well as retirees from Caterpillar Facility 6 (Class of 1998), to join us in honoring his memory.
